Campaigns
From its earliest days to the present, Credo has used drama to raise awareness of campaigns for the poorest people of the world. With the support of grants and commissions from charities such as Christian Aid, CAFOD, WEFT and Trust Greenbelt, as well as a large number of individual supporters, Credo has brought the complex issues of third world debt and trade justice to a large audience across the UK.
From the summer of 2001 Credo has been campaigning on the issues of Trade Justice. Credo Arts Community wasan early member of the Trade Justice Movement.
"International trade is one of the most powerful forces in the world today - affecting each and every one of us. Managed in the right way it could be one of the greatest solutions to global poverty, bringing investment, employment and income.

From the campaign's launch in 1997, Credo has been actively involved in supporting and promoting the Jubilee 2000 campaign for the cancellation of the unpayable debts of the world's poorest nations. Between 1997 and the end of 2000, Credo used flexible presentations, at over 40 venues across the UK. These showed the terrible effect of unpayable debt on the world's poorest people, with 19,000 children dying unnecessarily each day, together with the hope that things do change when people act together. As described at Credo's 4th Birthday Bash in July 2000;
We've performed in churches and cathedrals, In civic halls and village halls At schools and universities A convent and a gaol. We've done the cities like London, Sheffield, Leeds and Birmingham, York City, Hull City, Villages and towns. We've been to Burstwick, Bilton, Bridlington and Beverley. Sellyoaks, Southcoates Swanland-Scarborough too. In front of bishops and synods, Mayors and local labour parties School kids, Hull Sharks, And now in front of you.
Credo was invited by Jubilee 2000 to perform at the final rally in December 2000, alongside Gordon Brown, Bob Geldof, and a number of international speakers. While Jubilee 2000 ended on 31st December 2000 the campaign for justice goes on. More information on the campaign can be found at the web site of the
